Vintage Rose Nails

Hi everyone! What are you all up to? I'm just about to finish the 5th season of Breaking Bad! Today's nail design is inspired by Jolene (@PrettyLittleNails on Instagram). I recently came across her adorable rose design and I knew that I had to recreate it! To be honest, I was kind of scared because I haven't done a floral mani in a while and I didn't know if this design was going to turn out correctly...but I kind of like it! I hope you all do too :)

Polishes I Received this Christmas!

Hey guys! I know Christmas was over a month ago but I never had the chance to show you all what polishes I received this past holiday. I'm so grateful for the friends and family that fed my polish addiction and I'm so excited to share my new pretties with you!

*Disclaimer* I am in no way trying to brag about things that were given to me. I simply want to share them with you and show you my collection as it grows. I love reading about what polishes people bought/ received so I thought this would be a good idea :) I also want to mention that this will be a picture heavy post!

To start, I'll show you polishes from one of my favorite brands, Essie! These polishes were given to me by my aunt, my friend Madi, and my mom!

Freak Show Polish: Three-Ringed Circus

Three-Ringed Circus is a white jelly polish filled with red, black, and white glitters of many shapes and sizes, made to represent the flair that you find in the circus!

I did use the same base polish as I used when swatching Strongman II. I used four coats of I Will! by L'oreal and to prevent picture spam of the same polish, I did not insert the same pictures. To see the white polish, look at the blog post right before this one!

I love how simple yet elegant and fun this polish is, it really looks nice against the white base. It even looks more beautiful close up!

Here's my final rating of this polish:

Application: Normal, no problems with it.

True to Color: Yes, colors are very bright.

Dry Time: 2-3 minutes.

Consistency: On the thicker side but not an issue to work with.

Coats Until Opaque: With two coats, the small red glitters were all over the nail, I did have to place on some of the circle glitters myself because I wanted a big circle glitter on each nail.

Additional Comments: This polish definitely holds the essence of the circus while still being sophisticated.

Final Rating: 7/10

Cath Kidston Inspired

This week I decided to create something super girly and fun on my nails! I have been seeing this cute pattern by Cath Kidston around EVERYWHERE and I just had to have it on my nails. There was something about the colors, vintage vibe and roses (aka my weakness) that drew me closer and closer to this design.

To be completely honest, I'm thrilled with how these came out! They were very time consuming but I am in love with the outcome. I think the mint green (Jealous, Much? By Orly) pairs perfectly with the multi-toned roses. The roses are a bit messy and look more like blobs when you get extremely close, but from afar they look pretty nice!

Haha see what I mean? When you get close, you realize that the flowers look like nothing more than a few flicks of red and pink. But, I'm still in love. And apparently so was my 23 year old sister because she insisted that I do them for her as well!

For her version, since she loves blue, I decided to use Essie's Bikini So Teeny as a base instead. Little did I know that the pattern looks amazing on top of that color as well! I honestly think that the design would look great over almost any color. From pale pinks, dusty blues, grassy greens, to pastel yellows. I'm so excited to be rocking these for a few days. I hope I did Cath Kidston justice!

Chalkboard Nails

This weekend I decided to try something new and out of my comfort zone, Chalkboard Nails!

For this design, I decided to go crazy and draw random doodles that I would draw if I had a chalkboard. I finally had a chance to use all of my colorful nail art stripers for this! I think these are so fun and very simple to do. I started of with a black nail polish, created wacky designs with my nail art stripers, and finished it off with a matte top coat.

I had seen chalkboard manis a lot on Instagram recently, but what really motivated me to try it was the fact that @NailMachine and @PamelaPomelo wanted to do triplet nails with this theme!

A collage of all of our nails!
I think that all of ours came out so nicely and I am extremely happy that I had this opportunity! They are such nice girls and I can't believe I was lucky enough to do this, I have loved their nail art for the longest time! I encourage you to try chalkboard nails, they are super easy to personalize and are super fun and cute. If you try them, post them on Instagram, tag me and use the hashtag #inspiredbysabrinasnails. Or you can send me the picture through Kik or Email! Happy polishing!
