Crisp Striping Tape Mani!

How is everyone doing? Today I am thrilled to share my newest nails with you! I recently saw a design by @Rachell_Rachell and fell in love! I've done something similar before on my sister but her design took it to the next level! I also took this as a great opportunity to use my new striping tape!

(Do you see the holo in that China Glaze polish?!?)

To start, I painted my pinkie and index finger with Too Yacht To Handle by China Glaze. Because this polish is borderline neon, of course the formula wasn't all that, but it was decent and the end result is gorgeous!

On my thumb, middle, and ring fingers I painted a few coats of OPI's My Vampire is Buff. This polish is life, it's perfect in every way and it's a great alternative when you don't want to use a harsh white polish. If you don't have this polish, you need to run to your nearest Ulta and grab it! :)

Once the OPI polish was completely dry, I began to apply my striping tape and fill in each space with a different polish. The charcoal grey glitter polish is Some Like It Haute by China Glaze and the white polish is Superstar! by Pure Ice. If you're looking for a pictorial for this design, Rachell has an awesome one! Honestly, striping tape is probably my worst enemy. It's so hard to position it straight and to get it to stick! Using tweezers to apply it did help but I was seriously struggling with that tape for a good 30 minutes!

Even after all of the fuss of striping tape, I love how this turned out! I do wish that I wouldn't have used that glitter polish though, as beautiful as it is, I think it's too harsh and doesn't fit in. Maybe I'll try this design with pure creme colors in the future! Let me know what you think about this design in a comment below! And what color scheme should I use for the next time I try this out? :)

 Thanks for reading!

  2. I like that you used one glitter and the rest cremes! I think maybe the glitter feels a bit out of place because it's darker? Maybe a light purple glitter instead? Or a silver glitter to match the studs you have on your other nails? I can't wait to try this when my striping tape finally arrives! I ordered some almost 2 months ago but it still isn't here yet :'(

    1. I totally agree, the glitter feels a little too harsh for me. A silver glitter would look so cute! Sorry about your striping tape, mine took way too long to arrive at my house as well but I'm so glad that I have it now! Can't wait to see you try this design! ❤

  3. Oh! We really like the glitter. Think it adds a bit of contrast. We do love a good striping tape mani but they take a bit of patience to get a stunning design like this. E&J.xx
