Ombre Nail Tutorial!

Happy Tuesday! Today I have an Ombre Nail Tutorial to share with you :) I'm honestly becoming obsessed with creating pictorials, they're so fun to make! Enjoy!

  • A white polish (I used White on White by China Glaze)
  • 2 or more polishes of your choice (I chose Color Club's Factory Girl and Modern Pink)
  • Makeup Sponge
  • Acetone, cotton swabs, & a small brush for clean up
  • Top Coat (I chose Seche Vite)
Step 1:
Start by painting your nail with 1-2 coats of a white polish. Using a white polish as your base allows the colors you sponge on top to appear more bright and vibrant. Make sure your polish is completely dry before moving on to the next step.

Step 2:
Grab your makeup sponge and start to paint the polishes of your choice onto it. I just make two evenly thick stripes onto the sponge and I make sure that it will cover my entire nail.

Step 3:
Start sponging! Align the sponge with your nail and begin to dab onto your nail. Move the sponge up and down so that both colors will flawlessly blend into each other. Also make sure to cover the white polish completely.

Step 4:
Allow your first "coat" to dry before sponging again to reach full opacity.

Step 5:
Continue to sponge until it is opaque to your liking. (The more sponging you do, the more opaque and bright it will be.)

Step 6:
With your cotton swabs and acetone, clean up the majority of the polish around your nail. Use a smaller brush to clean up around your cuticle. Finish with a glossy or matte top coat and you're finished! :)

I really hope you guys enjoy this tutorial and try it out for yourselves if this helped you.
